Advice on setting up an assembly for this irregular section?

Putting in a center left turn and a decel (right turn) into existing driveway. I am very weak on setting up aseemblies, and am curious how you might approach this one. There are 3 separate sections, a taper, a lane section, and a taper. None of the tapers are congruent.

Hi @Chaznsc 

 

Are you going to implement kerbstone for the two islands or they are "ghost" islands (only with road marking)

Ok that's good you don't have kerbstone. Will be much more easier.

Let me know if i understood correct.

Is the existing road in the area with the blue question mark?

Do you have any alignment+ profile in the yellow and red question marks on the left and right side?

From your typical section looks like you have to implement a cebterline aligment + profile, and create a corridor with 5 regions, one left, one right and 3 for the T-junction in the middle.

Additionally you may implement offset + connected alignments (create also an alignment + profile for the existing road) to make your corridor dynamic in case of changes in your design (for sure will be few changes during the implementation).

You can build first your corridor only with lanes, till you will finalize the modeling of your top of pave elevations, and then you can add the daylight sub assemblies to your assemblies.

A quick approach could be the attached, where, red is the mail centerline alignment+ profile, green the existing, blue the offset alignments (with widenings) and yellow the connected alignments to use them as baselines to model your T-junction.

Of course the above is not the only approach, could have some other combination according to your requirements (water drainage etc)

Sorry for my slow response, last week got me sidetracked. So I have attached a revised diagram showing the existging edge of paving limits and the centerline alignment.
