Adding label style to all drawings

I have created a label style to label my finished contour elevations. Is there a way to make it so that every new drawing I create will have this label style automatically? Currently I am having to open an old drawing copy a label from that drawing into the new drawing and then delete the label out to get the label style into the new drawing. I am also having to do the same thing for any new layers. Is there a way to make the layers also appear in every new drawing instead of having to create them all over again?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give!

For new drawings add the Style to your Template. Create new drawings from that template.

You also might want to explore Reference Templates. That might help with older drawings.

Place any new label styles, layers and settings in your Template file and they'll be there what you start a new drawing from that template.

Also, look into Reference files where you can use one cad file to control the styles and settings across multiple files.

Could you explain more about the template file? How do I go about setting one up?

Thanks!

Follow the link above. Basically a Template file, DWT, is drawing file with whatever you want to start with. Add all your styles, layers, blocks, etc and save it as a DWT file.

Or copy and edit an existing DWT file like _AutoCAD Civil 3D (Imperial) NCS or _AutoCAD Civil 3D (Metric) NCS. NCS stands for National CAD Standards. Probably found in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D <year>\enu\Template\_Autodesk Civil 3D (Imperial) NCS.dwt
