Hi,

can you please upload the dwg-file, at least to see which object types you try to add to the alignment and then also to see the exact message you get.

Sometimes it's simply the reason that a polyline you want to add is not drawn in the same direction as the alignment, reversing the polyline would help in that situation.

That is the correct tool for adding Autocad elements to an existing alignment.  Its not my normal practice so I did a little test and noticed that initially I had to press the tool button a second time before it prompted for the selection of the objects to be added.

If the alignment labeling doesn't continue into the new segments is just means that their direction needs to be reversed so they're in the same direction as the rest of the alignment. The tool for that is the next button to the right of the one used above.

Hi,

>> I want to go through choosing the object

Understood that, but to know why your selection is ignored or to understand what happend then (after you selected your object) it needs more informations, e.g. the dwg-file, or screenshots of your command line to see the message or a screenshot of the property window to see which type of object you try to add to the existing alignment.

Easier to the end then the start

they have to be lines and arcs

“The Object” has to be lines and arc.... ONLY

and it would be best if they are created in the same direction as the alignment.

since The Object has to be drawn somewhere somehow, why not just use the alignment tool bar to draw The Object
