Add Labels in Section View

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I would like to get some advice:

i added some section view grade labels to my section views. But when i move the section view, the lable didn't go with with it? even I did select them. Is there a way to lock the labels with this section view so that if i move the section view to the new location, all label automatically go with it so i don't have to re-position them?

Thank you,

Dennis

If it is a section view label, it is labeling a specific location in the section view. If you move the section view, the label should move with it.

If it an AutoCAD text (mleader, mtext, etc.), that depends on the version you are using. Introduced in 2018 (I believe that was the version), there's a drafting buffer around the section view. If you draw anything within the drafting buffer and then move the section view, that linework should move with it.

Thank you! but it is AECC_OFFSET_ELEVATION_LABEL.

i added them individually with Annotate Tab => Add Labels => Section View => Grade. They are not AutoCAD text or mleader.

If you move just the section view, the label should move with it. If you move both the section view and the label, the label will move within the section view and then, when the section view moves, it will move with the section view. This effectively moves it twice. Perhaps that's what you're seeing? The only other thing I can think of is the label was created for a different section view but was placed on top of an adjacent view. When you move the view the label doesn't move because it's associated with an adjacent view.

Can you post a drawing?

Hi @Anonymous,

If you are using Civil 3D 2018 or higher then drafting buffer is what you are looking for. To give you more information about drafting buffer.

Please check out the first 2 mins of this youtube link by Johh Sayre to guide you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgyBQyEOaX4

For more information about drafting buffer, you can view this <thread link> and check out message 2 as I show in settings tab where to customize it via commands and Group Plot Style.

Cheers,

Jowenn

Try moving the section just using the grip.

Select anywhere on the grid of the section and the grip at the bottom will appear. Click on the grip and move it. Any labels that you added will move with it.
