'Add current folder to places' where is the file created saved?

I have just installed Civil 3D 2025.

On my Civil 3D 2024 installation I had numerous links through 'add current folder to places'.

They are missing  on this install.

Does anyone know where the 'add current folder to places' is saved and if it is possible to copy my links to 2025?

The saved places isn't stored in a file but actually in the registry.

Here's where you can find it:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD\\{VERSION}\\{PRODUCTCODE}\\Profiles\\{ACTIVEPROFILE}\\Dialogs\\AllAnavDialogs

Then there is a key called PlacesOrder in which the places are stored there.

Thank you very much for your answer. I looked at the registry and there it is.

It's nice to know Autodesk keep these things simple...

Why it isn't a simple file in the support folder I don't know.

I will just re-create them as I go along in future, editing the registry is too much messing about.

These sort of things should just migrate automatically from the old to the new - I add them manually when I do the new install

or you could use LISP and have code that sets the registry values at startup.

No problem, here's the LISP if it helps you!

Go down to line 85 where you can start adding registry entries for your places folder structure. I have some preloaded in this for History, Personal, Documents, Downloads, Desktop and the Civil 3D Tutorials folder specific to the version.

At line 120, there is an entry for My Custom Path. You can see how to use it from here.

There should always be the empty last registry entry. Just make sure the number is correct on the entries to have them appear in the correct order.

Note: This lisp supports 2022 - 2025. If other versions needed, you can look in registry for the R version number and copy the code to add.

Steven thank you so much, I really appreciate your advice.

I have had to re-install Civil 3D several times in the last month as there was an issue with the Windows 10 updates in our office.

It was such a pain customising the install with the option revisions to how I like it, toolbars and such.

I need to set up a button to revise the defaults I use, DELOBJ, OBJECTISOLATIONMODE, etc.

@stevenh0616 do you need admin rights to be able to run the lisp and write to the registry?

Possibly. Depends on your IT setup. If you do, I think you can just run civil 3D as admin and it should work
