I am curious if anyone has manipulated any of the rail subassemblies to have greater control over the characteristics of the ballast and subballast sections. I have attached an image that describes the three things that I am looking to do to meet the local railroad standards, specifically:
If anyone has tried this, or found some other way to perform these function I would love to know. Currently my firm resorts to using the roadway tools to make a subballast corridor with widths targets, and then a separate rail/ballast/tie custom "subassembly from a polyline" and general links to displays those features. It would be more convenient to control all of these aspects within 1 corridor, especially with some of the enhancements that have come with the rail package in 2020.
It would be nice to have these features on the single rail, left rail, and right rail subassemblies. The interior rail subassembly already has target widths for subballast I believe.
EDIT: It would also be nice to slope all of the subballast one direction.
Using Civil 3D 2020 Imperial.
The pkt file for the rail subassemblies are available and can be changed.
I don't see anything you've mentioned that can't be accomplished by changing the pkt using Subassembly Composer.
