I am trying to make spot elevation styles for my company so we can be more efficient with our surface labels. The standard that we use looks identical to a multileader with the top line of the leader text underlined. The elevation that is read from the surface is shown on the bottom, so it is under the line. If it is a label where we are labelling top and bottom of curb, text is added to the top of the line.
The image attached shows a multileader in yellow and my spot elevations in magenta. The spot elevation is made to look this way by adding a "line" component and adjusting the anchor and lengths in the layout tab. I'm happy with how this looks, but unfortunately, this label doesn't flip when I drag the text to the opposite side. So if I want the text to be on the right side vs the left side, I have to create a whole separate style to flip it. This is tedious, and I'd rather not do it.
Is there a way to make the spot elevation flip while keeping my line? The easiest answer may be to stop caring about the line running through the text. But unfortunately, I do not have a say in that. The leadership at the company like the plans to look a specific way, and changing our spot labels appearance will be a tough sell I think. Yay bureaucracy.
I've attached a test file with a dummy surface and the styles I have so far. I'd appreciate any advice/help.
