Okay I have my civil 3d set up perfect. What is the best way to export this out so I can make someone elses machine look and work just like mine?

Export out the Profile and import it onto the other machine. You may also have to copy the cui file, you can find the location in Options, Files Tab under the Customization Files. There should be a User CUI.

The profile only saves the data that is under the options dialog correct. Also I copied the Civil3d.cui and it didn't work. What am I doing wrong?

I've been messing around with my CUI recently, but I think you want the C3D.cui instead of the Civil3D.cui. I think the Civl3D.CUI is loaded into the C3D.CUI as a partial.

So if I copy that file to someone elses machine it will have my custom ribbon on it?

From my understanding of the process, yes they will. You may want to make sure you have saved your workspace before copying the file.

It worked. You need the .mnr file as well.

Hi All,

These forums have helped me countless times in the last few months while i have been learning civil3d.

Registered to ask the exact question eastridge is asking.

Anyway my question is, if i copy over the c3d.cui do the partial customization files come with it?

I am using a cpu set up by work and have 7 partial customization files, also I am trying to go from civil3d 2010 to 2011.

Thanks in advance.

I believe for the partials you will need to grab those cui files as well. Like the acad etc.
