combine plug-ins and add-ins to one tab

When you download and install add-ons from the Autodesk exchange site, they each get their on tab.  How can I combine all these add-in commands into one tab and ditch all the others?

As far as I know, you cannot do that because the codes are built-in. But if you have your own add-ins (programmed by yourself), you can put them in an existing tab.

Sounds like you might be running a version of Civil3D produced shortly after the mechanism was introduced (in 2012).  In newer versions (2015+) it automatically combines them into a single tab.

My 2015 doesn't run anymore (not by choice) so I can't verify.  Hopefully someone else can help.  I don't know exactly when they fixed it but that was a problem for quite a while.

Each tab has an ID, in this case the Civil 3D Add ins tab is called ID_ADDINSTAB

So type cui at the command line, then make sure all of the add ins use that Alias for the tabs. AutoCAD then should automagically merge the tabs with the same aliases.

Note most tabs work this way, except for the evil ID_Civil3DHome tab has some program crap attached to it making it not work.

All my plugins and addins currently have an aliase of ID_ADDINSTAB.

I tried adjusting the Workspace Behavior to Merge Tab Only, with no effect.

Then you can either open a support case with Autodesk to try to find the cause or use the CUI and move the tabs to the desired location and then unselect the now unneeded tabs in the main program by right clicking on the ribbon and unchecking them.
