Cogopoints dynamic aspect to Surface

Hello!

I have written som net-functions which can put out Cogopoints on 3dPolyline or Featurelines and also can interpolate between them. My question is, if it could possible to set dynamically Cogopoints to a Surface. So elevation can change in touch with a Surface ?!

Yes, that can be done with a fair bit of coding. We have this option in the DLPoints command of the Sincpac-C3D add-on. Any number of points can be dynamically linked to a surface.

If you are talking about of DLPOINTS in the Sincpac-C3D addon, it most certainly is available in the trial. The trial includes ALL of tools, not just a small sampling.

Yes Jeff my fault.

Now I was testing dlpoints, but not getting right, because CogoPoints will not update.

Certainly I prefer CogoPoints that creates has allready integrated the Linkoption (Elevation <- -> Surface) not after.

I have seen if rightclick on CogoPoint-object I can choice "Elevation from Surface...". Is that a metod I can get with .net too?

You can easily get the elevation of a surface at the CogoPoint location, although it's not a built-in method. Creating an extension method would not take too much work.

if I understod you mean creating cogopoints with findelevationXY metod, in this case cogopoint-elevation is not linked and not changing if move position or?

Correct, it is not linked. To create a link, as we have done in the DLPOINTS tool, requires a lot more work and involves the use of various events to track the edited point or surface and update the points when needed. Not a trivial task, but the links @Civil3DReminders_com provided previously will help get you started.
