I run simulations and then I want to be able share at least a 3D visual of the results with my team that does not have CFD. They all have either fusion or AutoCad or Mechanical. It would be very useful if we can share the results easily.
You can save out Dynamic Images which are vtfx files. These can be opened with the CFD viewer which can be installed for viewing results on machines where you do not have/want CFD to be fully installed/used
@matthieu.griveletAH26V - From the initial question for exporting in a format that others can consume without using a full install of CFD - the Dynamic Image (vtfx) is the path forward.
I feel that would differ from your comment of being able to have results look cool for presenting to clients. And i agree, clients wont always understand results natively without context or additional information so a raw export of results would be less useful. For that I'd actually encourage you to look at the FBX Exporter (in the App Exchange) as this allows results to go in to 3dsMax/ Vred / etc - with this workflow we've done great looking results for clients visualizing airflow over stadiums for Fox Sports (many years ago) or just incorporating CFD results in to VR / photo realistic renders for added context.
I also used the FBX exporter for such results. Unfortunately, the 6.0 version I use with CFD 2026 doesn't work well: the exported results don't have shading/colours.
I also find this really lacking the possibility to export ALL the results, only a few options are available (cut planes, traces, isovolumes, some surfaces but not all...).
As often with Autodesk CFD, it starts with a good idea but it is not a completely finished product and that's where I agrre with the initial demand of @mgruenerU6SRE to have more flexibility in exporting results. Limiting it to FBX qnd without much options is not ideql.
