Hello, community,

I would like to visualize the temperature at the inlet and on a person with my model. Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks 🙂

Hello again Mike,

The easiest way to have a appréciation of the thermal solution of your design is the following :

1. Develop your flow until the convergence is reached

2. Turn off Flow Solution in solver tab

3. Turn on Thermal Solution in the same solver tab

4. Apply the Thermal Boundary BC on the appropriate surfaces

5. Start your simulation

This way of proceeding the flow will be fixed in time, and the heat will propagate according to the velocity vectorial fields.

Other important thing :

  • A normal humain generate between 100W-120W
  • We talk about internal boundary condition last time, but there's exception and it's called volumetric boundary condition (Total Heat Generation)

Try this in the first place and let know how it works for you 🙂

Hello, Fred,

does CFD recognize the heat of people by the materials or do I have to set this explicitly? When I start my visualization I get the value 20 C
(this one I have indicated at the inlet with temperature BC)

Hallo Michael,

No ! Humain material only have thermal propreties like conductivity(x,y,z)  heat capacity , and emissivity.

Temperature, Internal Heat Generation, Heat flux, or film coefficiant must be setted indicidually through the ThermalBoundaryCondition.

If you impose a surface BC to the human model, the model must be suppressed from the mesh.

If you impose a volumetric BC to the human model, the model need to be meshed.

Hope it helps

Hello Chris,

there's still work to do on this particular model.

We will close the thread once it will be done.

Thanks

Fred
