Motion solver license problem - CFD2016 student version

Hello,

I have a problem with CFD (2016 version, service pack 2, student license).
When I try to solve a design study the following error occurs: „The (motion) solver license  could not be checked out from the license server”.
I’ve been using program for two months so far and no error like this had happened before.
I’m also using CFD Design Study Environment and there is no problems with its licence.

What can I do to solve my problem?

Regards,

Filip

Thanks for reaching out to Autodesk Community! 🙂

What about installing CFD 2017 with the latest update? 😉

Hi,
unfortunately, for some unknown reason, I don’t have  access from my account to CFD 2017 Version.
I have access to other 2017 programs (e.g. 3DMax, Revit), but not to this one.

Is there any other way to resolve my problem with 2016 version or is it possible to get access to 2017 version?

Hi Amal,

I have the same issue, my license worked fine from October 2016 - December 2016 then lost the motion solver license.

It seems there are many cases of this happening and I cant help but wonder how a hotfix hasn't been implemented yet...

You suggest downloading the 2017 update but, how? - I can only see downloads for 2016 even under the Autodesk 2017 link

Hi @Anonymous, Hi @Anonymous,

I would like to let you know that one of our users was able to resolve the motion license issue of CFD 2016 (Student version).

I suggest that you try the solution that worked for him in the time being so you would be able to continue working on your projects 🙂 Please take a look at the thread Student version for Autodesk CFD 2016.

Would you please let me know if it helped resolve the issue on your end?

Thanks,

Amal

Hi Amal,

I have tried the linked solution - i uninstalled CFD 2016 and attempted to reinstall it as a 30 day trial.

Once the re-installation was complete, I opened CFD 2016 but it said "the product you are attempting to use requires a license" or something similar to which I had to input my given license. This changed nothing, I still only have access to the design study environment.

Is there seriously no other way you can fix this? because I really need to be using CFD 2016 for my project and I cant afford to loose more time.

You said you were working on an install for 2017, any ideas how long that will take?

Thanks for the update regardless, Please do keep me informed.

Luke.

Hi Amal,

I tried re-installing software but it haven't solved my problem. After installing a trial I am still not able to input my license.

Also i still don't have an access to 2017 version.

I'm looking forward to another solution.

Filip.
