Please suggest how to create rotating fluid domain in flowing fluid.

Could you explain what you mean, why do you need a rotating fluid domain?

What are you modelling from reality?

Thanks for reaching out! Do you mean a rotating region? Have you seen the Centrifugal Pump tutorial? Are you specifically asking about modeling pumps/fans via rotating region?

Hi,

Thanks for reply. My specific case is horizontal kaplan turbine. As i have
hub and runner blades mounted, do i need to create rotating region and hub
or only to around blades. After this again do i need to create static
region around rotating region.
Please explain.

Did you see the guide already?

How far have you progressed through the analysis? This is possible by assigning this as free spinning with an inertia value and allowing the flow to move the impeller.

Hi,

 

Thanks for your reply, Its good Analysis is going on...

As i has to do Analysis at different guide vane openings.

I have only water head details at inlet and outlet and fixed RPM of rotor but i do not have data of water flow or Discharge details.

 

 

In your below email, you say as inertia values, what is this?

Hold on, you do have the rpm value?

If this is the case, just use this and do not worry about the inertia.

 

The inertia is only required for flow driven analyses where you want CFD to calculate the rpm for you.

 

Or is your question 'what is intertia'?
