Cfd Simulation

Hi I'm having a few problems running simulations on my model car I made from solid works

. When I import the step file from solid works to Autodesk Cfd I would always be missing a part and when i try run some simulations it wont create a mesh and shows a error. Could some help me

Hello, in that case, there is a chance that the model is not clean enough to be open in Autodesk CFD.

Shre the geometry and I will look at it.

Should I send a zip with in the form of Step files or solidworks files

You could attach both of the file types. there is always a chance that exporting the model to STEP generates an issue.

Ok, I checked the model. The bodies do not align to other bodies, Fusion is not able to join them.

You also have a lot of edges, which could be problematic to mesh.

You need to clean the geometry, you could try to load the step to SolidWorks and try to create one simplified body.

hi thanks for responding I can see what you mean on how the bodies don't align but  I'm still abit new to this stuff and I don't know how to "clean the geometry" is there a way you could help me

Try opening it in the CFD Surface Wrap environment and surface wrapping it.

hi thanks for responding and also for the suggestion i never heard of surface wrapping so i tried it with the STL file but i dont know what im doing wrong cause its doesnt seem to load the model even when i do the wrap its like it just disappears

Heres the STL i was using the orientation is abit wrong i changed it in fusion 360

STL files are not ideal with all the facets. Use another format such as step it acis.

Please see attached model.
