CFD 2019 crashing when adding more than a few traces

Hi,

I have just begun to to use CFD, and am having trouble viewing my results with the use of traces. Whenever I add more than a few traces to the result, CFD crashes right away, no error message or anything. I read on the forum that performing the simulation in the cloud solves the problem, but it didn't for me. I'm pretty sure that the more iterations the simulation has, the fewer traces I can place without a crash. I have also tried changing the graphics card settings, but the global presets option has been removed from the NVIDIA control panel.(https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/cfd-forum/cfd-2016-trace-crashing/td-p/5603693)

My system is:

Intel Core i5 8500 @ 3 GHz (3.9 GHz on turbo)

NVIDIA GTX 1050ti 4GB

16GB of DDR4 RAM

Samsung 850 pro SSD

Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit

Also, I'm on a student account, if it makes any difference.

I really wanted to include comprehensive simulation results in my internal assessment (for school), so it would be great if someone could help me get this working ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi @Lukasz.b.galecki,

Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums. This is a known issue with CFD, and right now there is no fix or workaround. It is due to several different graphics library incompatibilities. It is expected this will be fixed for CFD 2020, which will come out in the spring.

Thanks,

This is unfortunate and hopefully there could be a "hot fix" before the 2020 release?

At least this explains why A-CFD 2019 is crashing much more frequently.  I was lucky enough to go through several years of hardcore use through several releases and rarely had a crash.  Now, when processing results on models, I at least have several crashes a day.
