With the ever-growing use of CDE's to manage project data and communications I was wondering what steps a participant should take to ensure access to the data over and beyond the construction to handover stages. I have heard of stories where access to the CDE has been denied over a dispute, making valuable data and communication records inaccessible.
In addition, do you feel there is a need for a participant to mirror the CDE during the project development or at least make an archive at the Handover milestone? How does one even achieve this? Surely it is not just a case of downloading raw data files without the context of the communication and file metadata??
Love to hear what you are doing to ensure accessibility to this information at project close.
