Revit publishes linked models on opening central model

Since the upgrade from de desktop connector to v16 Bim360 shows strange behaviour on some of our projects. When opening our central model from Bim360, the linked models are published in Bim360; they instantly are getting a higher publishing number. This happens on our own hub but also when we are working in the Bim360 hub of another company. This is unwanted behaviour, we cannot publish 3rd party models since they're not ours. What can cause this and what is the solution to stop this? #Revit 2021, #Bim360, #DC 16.1.1.1950.

We already tried to uninstall everything from the desktop connector according https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/A-clean-uninstall-... but it doesn't solve the problem.

Hi

Someone might have changed a setting on your project while there was an upgrade in DC.

This was happening on an ACC project, and the Architect was publishing both his and Structural models. It turns out that he turned on the feature to automatically every Friday at xx time publish both models.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question but there wasn't any auto publish selected, not even a coordination room.

The same issue here.

Linked files get uploaded with a new revision no. and user name.

That will cause a lot of issues with versioning. In case when we have the same file on clients CDE, we could upload it on ours CDE, compare/trace the dates/version no. and make sure we are working on most up to date version.

Now it is not possible, when the version is overwritten every single time someone opens the main model.

This behavior is not present on ACC, only on BIM360.

Thank you. Now we now we're not the only one. I have contact with Autodesk Support about this, maybe there will be an answer soon.

I´ve contacted support, they came with this workaround:

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Linking-IFC-files-...

Here I can't expect 25 people using this workaround which will cost them a lot of time, if they understand it at all. So we will degrade to desktop connector v15.8 for now.

I'm back on 15 as well. You can't expect people to use this workaround on tens of links and do every time model updates.

I worked in structures and the architects questioning me why I kept updating their model (which obviously I will never do). It all started after getting my Autodesk Desktop Connector updated on Tuesday, 21st March 2023. It's becoming annoying that links files getting rev up with your name even if you don't have intention to do it.

We are also experiencing the same issue with V16 on Revit 2022 projects.

No one with V15 is experiencing these issues.

I answered this in another post. Unfortunately, there are such problems with the 16.0 version, especially when working with Revit's old versions, my suggestion is to download the 15.8 version and continue.

Let me know if you have more questions on this topic, otherwise please accept as a solution so that others can benefit from this information.

Please be aware that this is still an issue in the DTC 16.2 for both BIM 360 and ACC projects.

My team is reporting issues with Autodesk Connector 16 as well.  Many errors like the ones in the images. We need a solution for this ASAP. 1- Long Path.jpg3 - Failed to open.jpg4 - Failed to open document 2.jpg

We were advised yesterday by our local ADSK rep that the issue in the original post has now been resolved. I haven't tested it yet.
