Markup capabilities/file formats

We use both AutoCAD and Inventor, coupled with a dedicated Vault server. Checking in dwgs, idws automatically generates a dwf file of same. Thus, our in-house markup process is based on the dwf file format (one less set of PDF's to manage, automatic file generation, versioning, and tracking)

Problem is our outside partners are in many cases MAC based (and so cannot use Autodesk Design Review unless they are running Parallels), or are government agencies and contractors, who have strict rules about installing new software, etc.

Therefore, we are looking for a web based document management solution that provides a dwf markup tool and is platform independent.

Does BIM 360 DOCS work with dwf files, and if so can they be marked up via web interface (is there a dwf viewer/markup tool built into the web interface?)

Thanks.

Hi,

BIM 360 Docs supports the viewing and markup of DWF files.  Just upload your DWF's into the "Plans" or "Shop Drawings" folders / subfolders and your designs will be viewable in both web and mobile.  You will also be able to markup (with open / closed status) and create issues.

Best Regards,

Joan Allen
