As I have used my Autodesk account to trial C4R & BIM 360 Team in the past, will I now be able to trial the next gen BIM 360 Design platform with the same account?

Solved by angiizzi. Go to Solution.
You will be able to start a new trial of BIM 360 Design soon to enable you to test drive Revit worksharing and the new modules that accompany the solution including document management & design collaboration while using the same Autodesk account.
Thanks,

This would be hugely beneficial to get people on board. I have lots of customers who are very interested in getting a project started within a trial of BIM 360 design so they can dip their toe in the water and create processes for potential investment and also check to make sure they can integrate it with their current workflows. Is this close?
It is our intent to have a unified trial experience for all BIM 360 products available at the end of this month (June). There are many technical aspects of delivering such an experience and our priority is a stable product with features for efficiency and basic needs as we expand the solution in the months and years to come. We are building a platform not a single point product and our plan is for that platform to have a single point of entry and serve as the common data platform for design and construction. I understand the frustration of not having a trial for the single BIM 360 Design product but our desire is to offer a unified experience so you can trial all aspects of BIM 360 team across the project lifecycle.

So it is nearly the end of the month. Waiting very patiently for this trial!! Any idea of a date, or if it is released, then a link to a website maybe?
We are getting closer to releasing but it looks like this will more than likely move to a July release timeframe for BIM 360 Design specifically.
Any Sign???
Forgive me if I am completely wrong here, but I would assume that offering a trial does not entail much extra work. Its the same as a paying option, only lifting the actual payment for one month.
This is a very complex activity but I feel we are getting close to a solution. I think we are still 30 days away from distribution, unfortunately.

So mid August is now the timeline. Wow!! Its incredible how this option was not implemented when creating the payment structure for the platform. If a payment structure was developed to align with an account, then can you not in someway just waive the first months payment. Is this not the same thing??? The trial offers the full package anyway (yes I may be completely wrong, but I am trying to understand). The platform was released months ago!
I personally do not need to trial it as I have used C4R in the past and I know too well how much using this platform in our office will increase efficiency, but you got to think of the money people and the senior staff. These are the ones that need to see something in operation before they sign off on payment for it.
It's a lot more complicated than this. We have backend entitlement systems that check to see if you are a user or if you are a trialer. Our BIM 360 solution has been introduced on a new technology that is separate from this. We are now bringing an existing solution to a new BIM 360 platform and providing a connection to our desktop solutions. It is simply not that easy.
Our sales team is equipped to assist our customers to try our collaboration tools and my hope is they are doing everything they can until we have an official trial in market.
Glad you see the efficiencies. We are seeing a lot of new adoption with this new platform since it connects design and construction workflows and provides a centralized data platform.

hello
any idea about the availability of the product for educational users ?
thanks
We have made BIM 360 Design available for existing grant customers. We have not made the service available to new educational customers just yet. We are hoping to offer this soon.
