Why Revit file which is uploaded into BIM 360 docs not showing in Revit to add as a link?

I am Uploaded a Architetural.rvt File as a "upload a Link " into BIM360 Docs and I am trying to link the same file into my Revit Bim360 Project , I opened manage linkes and selected the external resources but at am not see the Revit Archictural.rvt file at the location where its uploaded in BIM 360.

I am not an account admin but I was added as a project admin what could be the reason for Revit not showing the file to link from external Sources.

@narasimhamurthy8ULAN As a project admin, you should have the necessary permissions to access the file in BIM 360 Docs, but it's possible that there are certain restrictions set up by the account admin. If you're still having trouble, it may be helpful to reach out to your BIM 360 support team for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or check for any potential issues with your account or project settings.

but before reach out with them Check that the file has been successfully uploaded to BIM 360 Docs: It's possible that there was an error during the upload process, or that the upload is still in progress. Double-check that the file has been successfully uploaded to BIM 360 Docs by logging in and checking the file's status.

Hope my answer will help your query

Thanks

I’m pretty sure you don’t need Autodesk support but you can wait for them to come around or ask the community. I think I see what you are doing wrong.

@RobDraw : Yes, I know there might be wrong what am doing, I want do wright. that's why am here to ask experts.

I am fixed the issue after my own research.

Solution: We need to Install Autodesk Desktop Connector,

I have understood it's works like a drive, or it works like a bridge between BIM360 Docs and to The System drive.
After-install Autodesk Desktop Connector I have found at here as given in image below.

narasimhamurthy8ULAN_0-1682685862057.pngnarasimhamurthy8ULAN_0-1682685862057.png

1.From this location I opened the Revit file directory of BIM 360 Docs.
2.Opened the Revit Manage links > Add > Pasted the Directory link and found the file here visible.
That's all I found the link loaded. Issue resolved.

But I am still wondering why the same thing was not happening with External Recourse.
I need a clarification on this and wanted to understand there may be another method to load links from External Resources.

That's not the way I do it and I'm pretty sure it's not the recommended workflow for linking Revit projects. It obviously works for you ATM with the current state of the connector it could become problematic.

I'm not an expert nor do I work for Autodesk. Nor do I have all the answers you are looking for. I guess your gonna have to wait for those people.

Wow. Really? You would rather wait than discuss the recommended way to link Revit files?

I can tell when I've been insulted.

Good luck.

I wonder where they could be. Are you still limiting yourself to experts and Autodesk support or are you willing to accept answers from others?

If Autodesk or somebody answer and provide the solution that would help people around the world who are interested in learning new things on BIM360. which is also now known as ACC.
It's not only for me there are many people don't have full understanding on this I am checked in my team they are around 100+ users here.
I am checked over Internet, YouTube to find the solution all are talking about how to setup project in BIM360.
Nobody is showing what is the correct way to link Trade Revit file from BIM360 to Revit.
I don't accept any of your answer as solution since there is no solution in that.

Earlier, you asked for an answer from Autodesk or experts. You also said that you got it working and didn't want me to post the proper way to do it. It's not a secret and you must have missed it.

Three words should help.

Collaborate in cloud.

Good day

You clearly stated that you wanted to wait for Autodesk or an expert when I said I don't do it as you described, which was working.

Collaborate in cloud.

Please only answer. No more Discussions on this. only Soultion and answer would close this post. you can Answer if you know.
I understand Autodesk Experts may be missed the chat. or maybe don't want to give a solution not sure on them but you can put your solution and if its wright apricated.

Against my better judgement, I gave you the answer. I think I see how you missed it in your research. If I have time later, I'll see if I can find the Autodesk page that describes how to set-up a project in the cloud.

BTW, BIM 360 is not also known as ACC. I'm surprised that your research hasn't taught you that they are different.

It works

Problem:

Not able to see the uploaded file for linking

Reason:

That revit files contains worksets and not detached fully from central model

Solution:

Open that file as detached from central.

Discard the worksets.

Save as local model.

Now save the file to the cloud folder.

Its done.

After uploading you will see a cloud mark next to this file name in the ACC.

Now you can able to link the file to any ACC revit file.

Thank you

RAM
