I have viewing issues in Docs with Solids hosted in DWG file.

Solids viewed in DocsSolids viewed in Docs

The same DWG file uploaded til Glue does not have the same viewing issue.

Solids viewed in GlueSolids viewed in Glue

Does anyone have an explanation for this difference?

Hello jhl,

Thank you for contacting Autodesk.

For the image posted from the BIM 360 Docs application, was that taken from the Docs web or mobile application?

Can you confirm the browser type and version and/or the mobile device from which the image was taken?

I would expect that the image would consistently render in any of the supported browsers: Internet Explorer (IE11), Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, as well as the mobile device. See the Help page About System Requirements for specifics about supported browsers and supported mobile devices for BIM 360 Docs.

If possible, please test in another supported browser, as well as the iPad application and let me know if the behavior in the post is consistent or specific to a particular browser and/or mobile device. We can then investigate further.

Please let me know if you have additional questions at this time.

Regards,

Don

Hello Don,

The .DWG file uploaded to BIM 360 Docs is in meter and a coordinate system for Denmark. This gives me the strange view of the Solids.

Solids in a DK coordinate systemSolids in a DK coordinate system

I created a new drawing where I moved the Solids object to 0,0,0. When uploading this .DWG file to BIM 360 Docs I get a result that looks nice.

Solids in local coordinatesSolids in local coordinates

But it will destroy a shared coordinate BIM workflow (Civil 3D, Revit and InfraWorks).

Best regards,

Jens
