In your RFI Workflow can the Creator, Manager and Reviewer get email notifications when things are processed or answered?

Hi laura.smithPBW52,

Yes, they will receive a notification. The following knowledge article contains additional information about Working with RFI's in Docs. Please review this information when you are able and reply if you have any questions.

Looks like only the Manager Role in the Workflow will receive email notifications. I did a test RFI and put myself as Manager and did not receive a notification via email.

Hi Laura,

In my testing yesterday I received an email for all addresses and roles that were included when the RFI was created. After after responding to it using the Reviewer Role, an email was received by both the Creator and Manager. Are you using the same email address for each of the roles in your instance or separate emails? Are all of these users subscribing to the project?

Hi Laura,

We will soon add the ability to define a Distribution List to the RFI, so you can determine who to send email notification on status changes.

I put myself as creator, manager and receiver and never received an email and yes my email is the same. I can receive notifications on everything else but seems to not work for RFIs.

Hi Laura,

We have a general rule for many of the BIM 360 email notifications that we don't send an email to the person that took the action.  For example, if I upload a file to a folder, I won't get a subscription notification email (even though I'm subscribed to the folder).  That logic applies to Issue and RFI notifications as well.  If you are the Manager and also the Creator, you won't get an email notification when you create the RFI.

Could you please try having someone else on your team take an action (like creating an RFI) and then verify if you received the email?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Joan Allen

Thank you for your explanation. I can understand your logic. I have been having issues with everyone getting a notification on the RFI workflow. For example, if I have three users as manager all three, not including myself should get a notification to a submitted RFI, correct?

Hi -

Yes, users assigned the "manager" role should get notified.

Thanks,
