New Approval Workflows get blocked mid-process when model is supersceeded

Hi Guys

We have been trying to take advantage of the new document approval workflows in BIM 360 Docs to run our internal QA steps on the 2D sheets, (drawings), as part of a model, which looked to be a great way to work, but what we have noticed is that if a model is re-uploaded / published, the associated sheets views are up-revved, and the platform no longer allows markups to “drawings” that are in an active review process, the buttons actually disappear! (A small warning appears next to the version number at the top of the screen), so the review has to be voided, and restarted….

This means that any approval workflow with more than 3/4 steps, (reviewers), cannot be completed when there is a project requirement to submit a model or set every week.

This should surely be changed to allow a review process to be completed regardless of the model uploads? I understand that it is important to know that a drawing or view has been updated, but it is also important that reviewer' comments and markups can at least get back to the initiator, otherwise it is a waste of time.

Cheers!

Ian

Hi @ipearse,

Thank you for posting to our forums!

With regards to your inquiry concerning "allow a review process to be completed regardless of the model uploads", please submit the feature enhancement in our BIM 360 Ideas page. If enough community members vote on the idea, it could potentially be considered by the product team for a future release.

A temporary workaround is to copy the documents need to review into another folder before initiator the review.

Thanks and best regards,
