Cleaning up duplicate companies in BIM 360 Admin

Prior to the "HQ" admin portal, in Field Classic account admin there was a tool to merge duplicate companies.  Is there a plan to bring this back in HQ?

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the input.  Yes, we do intend to support merging companies in the future.  This is not on the near-term (next several months) roadmap due to other urgent priorities, but we do see it as an important capability.

Hi @ed.bellman,

I'm just checking in to see if you need more help with this. Did the suggestion that @patriciakeaney provided work for you?

I need this functionality as well. I now have several people scattered across 2 companies with the same name (Which should not be allowed by default). when we are trying to add people to projects, there is now 2 to select and no way to tell which one is the correct one to add people to. Is this something i can put in a ticket for and ADSK can manually do on the back end???

There inst even a way to export list of people in either company to see what projects they are in to manually move to different company.

I also thought i could just deleted the company, and then in the projects it would show them blank in whichever project they are in, but that is a no-go.

Charles,

You are experiencing the same thing I've run into.  You first have to go to each person and reassign their company on each project one at a time and only then can you delete the duplicate company.  I went through this cleaning up on some of our sister or internal companies (and ran into a couple of issues that required Autodesk Technical Support intervention) but I don't have time to go through all ~1,700 of our companies manually like that!

Hi @CharlesBerteaux,

A potential reason that you could not delete the company even after you have removed all the users in all projects, is if you search for this company under Account Admin - Member Directory, the company may be assigned to members as Default Company and that is probably why the company could not be deleted.

Thanks,
