BIM 360 Docs, Design, Coordinate, Build, Field and Glue

There seems to be four levels of BIM 360 (Docs, Design, Build and Coordinate).  But, I also see references to BIM 360 Field and Glue.  Then there is a benefit product called Team.  As an admin it makes my head swim a bit trying to assign all of this stuff.  What's where and which is what?

Hi,

I will try and explain for you, so hopefully you can get your head around what's what. I have also included some links to further information about each product.

  • Lets start with BIM 360 Docs - this is for your document management software. To store all project information.
  • BIM 360 Design - this is your real-time Revit cloud working and replaces C4R. Where users can store their Revit models and work collaboratively with others on a project.
  • BIM 360 Build - is where you can create RFI's, track performance in the field, checklists, safety inspections, etc. BIM 360 Build was renamed from BIM 360 Field, but fields is still available for classic projects.
  • BIM 360 Coordinate - is where users aggregate models and manage clash's. A little bit like Navisworks but in the cloud. Again just like Build was BIM 360 Glue as it's classic name and BIM 360 coordinate replaces it, but you can still access Glue for older projects.

Oh BIM 360 Team was not offered as part of subscriptions in 2018. I am not sure if you can still use it or not if you already had it as part of your subscriptions though.

Finally it would be worth signing up to the BIM 360 Release Notes on any further updates to the software. BIM 360 is ever evolving.

Does this make some sense to you? If you need anything else please feel free to shout out.

Thanks, Gareth

Thanks for the info.  Is Field the classic name for some level such as Design?  Can it still be access for previous models?  I have a person asking for a demo of it.

Edit - Sorry, I see you did mention Field was replaced by Build.  That's probably what we are looking for.  Thanks.
