3D Section View Error and Glitches

Anonymous

When slicing a 3D model, in this example a Revit file, it is common for the view to glitch and the section to almost catch on objects. See the examples attached.

This is particularly frustrating when trying to section down to the ground floor and there doesn't seem to be anyway around the problem.

Hello Jonathan,

My name is Bogdan, I am with the BIM 360 Technical Support Team and I will be assisting you on this issue.

I understand that when you are slicing a 3D model in BIM 360 Docs, there are some errors in the way that objects are displayed, as presented in the screen-shots you attached to this post.

Could you please let me know if this is always happening to you or if this is happening just for some of your projects and for some of the uploaded 3D models?

Also, may I please ask you to upload the Revit model on which you are currently working in BIM 360 Docs? I would like to investigate it on my side and see if I obtain the same result.

Thank you very much.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best regards,

Bogdan Ciobanu

Hi Bogdan,

What is your email shall I give you access to my Docs site to access the
model. It doesn’t happen to every 3D model but quite a few.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue.

I can confirm that I recreated the behavior on my side, but it happens only for this particular project of yours.

May I please ask you to upload the Revit model so I that I can take a look at it, too?

Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best regards,

Hello Jonathan,

Could you please confirm in a private message the name of your account and let me know on which server the project is hosted (US or EU)?

Unfortunately, I cannot recreate this behavior on my side on other projects, only on yours. So, once again, could I also ask you to send me the Revit model you were working on?

I would ask the development team to investigate this issue, but to do that I would need the requested information.

Thank you,

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best regards,

Bogdan.

Hi,

Thank you for your patience while our development team is still working on this request. Apparently this is a quite difficult issue to solve.

I will get back to you as soon as the investigation is complete or with an update on the work progress.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Bogdan.

Thank you very much for your patience. We have just received an update from our development team. Unfortunately, there seems to be an issue with the Viewer that BIM 360 Docs uses. I have tested, and the same behavior occurs if using A360.

Our development team is currently working on improving the functionalities.

As this request is now logged with the development team I will now have to put this case on hold. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I hope the Viewer will soon be improved.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Best regards,

Bogdan.
