"To Allow Markups in Issues" simply being ignored for years.
It begs the question, does your Development team visit these ideas pages at all?
Does your marketing team?
Does your PR team?
Does Anyone @Anonymous come here? If so please respond.
The fact that this very idea, about you ignoring your customers, is gaining votes says it all.
Let's see if you change that in 2022. OR will you simply delete these ideas pages when you've finished the name change from BIM360 to Autodesk Construction Cloud?
What an amazing, yet logical idea... it almost feels like this platform has been put together to pretend they are listening while in practice following their own agenda, only acting when the users opinion match theirs.
To be fair, Joan Allen (of BIM360 ADSK Team) has spearheaded some really quick updates to BIM360, but, like you all say, in other areas any has been completely unresponsive, almost making the platform unsuitable for many projects.
Really feels like Autodesk is definitely going more for Cash than Care (with it's Clients), see open letter below on Revit:
Does feel a bit like focus and development has shifted to ACC. I have had an idea "under review" on the ideas board for 2 years, there are others with substantial support in the same position. Would be good to hear from Support or development team on what they are looking at from customer feedback currently across all platforms
I'd say the lack of response is because BIM360 itself is a 'dead' product. Sure it's still here and will be live for some time, but as of last February the platform and development moved to Autodesk Construction Cloud. Does this mean this ideas forum is ignored? Sure seems like it, doesn't it?
Since ACC is based on Plangrid and more than a few of the public webinars about the platform in the last year or so have had folks wearing "Plangrid" instead of "Autodesk" apparel, I think it speaks to larger issues inside Autodesk hurting all of us as clients and customers.
Oh I've gone back and forth with moderators on here about Autodesk's "use" of ideas. I personally don't think Autodesk gives a crud about the votes. This platform is simply crowdsourcing IDEAs. Autodesk developers have, and will almost certainly continue, to add what features they thing are easily attainable and will imcrease their market share. That's it! They don't care about the user experience. Look at Navisworks... bought by Autodesk in mid 2000's, and for THE LAST DECADE! hasn't received a substantial update or improvement, despite clear and repeatable bugs. Example: use the Sets window with a long list of sets, especially if organized in folders, and scroll up and down a couple time and Navis will crash. I talked with the head of Navis R&D in 2017-2018-ish about this, and he told me Navisworks wasn't getting any further development. Meanwhile, Glue, BIM360 Coordinate, and the new Coordinate are all missing CRITICAL features for clash detection like being able to set clearance tolerances (for things like accounting for spray applied fireproofing and deflection on steel), or being able to set custom rules to ignore like diffusers and lights touching... which happens in just about every room of every project ever.
Back to the topic at hand... there are ideas with hundreds of votes and comments, no reaction from Autodesk. Some half-baked idea with almost no votes.. implemented in the next release. Just look it up. They are everywhere! I'll post ideas. I'll even vote for them on occasion, but I don't delude myself in thinking any of it will make a difference to Autodesk.
And BIM360 may be dead, but that's just because they rebranded it as "Build" talk about a crappy keyword! Have they even setup an ideas page for Build yet? Nope! I'm using it on projects so there should be a page. Navisworks Ideas? Nope! But Maya, and Maya LT have separate Idea stations. What else is missing from https://forums.autodesk.com/?interaction_style=idea ?
Autodesk: Here's what we'll do instead. We'll change the name, pretend it's a new product, fix 2 bugs, create 10 more and we'll use the "How much money do you have?" pricing model to extract as much as possible from any remaining gullible customers.
