Similar to subscribing to folders and receiving email notifications to new uploads. It would be beneficial to be able to subscribe to a file and receive email updates when a new version is updated. For example, i subscribe to a file and someone updates it from version 20 to version 21, the email update would notify me when it was updated and by who, as well as linking to the file itself.
