Select which BIM 360 views to clash from models copied to Coordination Space

Idea:

I propose we need to be able to select which BIM 360 3D views we want to clash when copying or uploading a model to a Coordination Space.

Context:

At this time this functionality is not implemented which means that BIM 360 auto-generates clashes for all 3D views it finds in the uploaded models. Models to be coordinated in our projects however contain more 3D views then only clash set views, because coordination is about more then clash testing alone. Therefore BIM 360 is needlesly calculating and generating clashes that aren't relevant to us. We should this be able to tell BIM 360 beforehand which views to include in the clash detection process and which to ignore. The ignored views however we want to be able to visualize them still in the same way as the other clash views.

Example:

At our office we have a general 3D view for each discipline which contains all visible elements for that discipline. However we make seperate 3D views which each contain only a subset of elements that need to be part of a certain clash set (ventilation ducts / pipes / doors / doors usage spaces / opening elements / ...). So lots of small 3D clash set views. This gives us granular control over clash exploration. The general 3D view however is not to be included in the clashing because it would make clashes to be generated twice. The general view however is useful to get an overview of the entire discipline which is larger then only the elements to be clashed. And as said before, coordination is about more then clash detection alone.

I cannot speak for BIM 360, but in ACC Model Coordination, the clashing is done on Published 3D Views in Revit.  Simply Publish the views you want to be able to select from for clash detection before you save/upload your Revit model.

Via the clash settings in ACC Model Coordination, you can disable clashing on specific models within the Coordination Space.  This can eliminate the auto-clash processing and management when you want to have models there just for viewing and referencing against the clashing models (i.e. any design models just for reference).
