Reopen a Closed Issue/RFI

Reopen a Closed Issue/RFI

It would be helpful if issues/rfis that are marked as closed can be reopened.

The ability to archive these would also be beneficial.

The ability to edit, or respond to Answered RFI's and Issues would be helpful too.

Too often an RFI might be bounced back and forth 5 or 6 times and further clarification required, and if it can only be responded to once, this isn't an option.

That is the question from one of the BIG developer director in our country. ability to reopen the closed RFI. Base on him, it is quite common that decision changes affect RFI and need to overwrite OLD RFI, Esp in big project. Any recommend workflow?

Agree, if not reopen at least option to create a new issue with easy reference to the closed one.

Any follow up to allow for reopening a closed issue? I have several project teams interested in this feature. Even if it the task was limited to a project admin, it would be ideal.

If there's a technical concern with reopening then how about creating a revision or "new issue/RFI related to this item"? The only problem with that is it doesn't help if the issue/RFI was closed by mistake. Easiest solution for us would be to simply reopen but require that we choose an assignee to save the changed status.

It is absurd that you cannot re-open a closed or voided issue.  I guess Autodesk thinks we never make mistakes.   I am new to BIM 360, and was testing out the Issues feature on my project.  Created a test issue, then closed it.  I intended to go back and delete the issue after I was done testing the feature.  Nope, not an option.  OK fine, I'll just re-open the issue and void it out.  Nope, not an option.  So now this test issue lives in my project FOREVER.  I can't even filter it out of issues reports without filtering out ALL of the closed issues.

At the very least, it seems like poor design to not warn a user when they are about to close or void an issue that they are making a PERMANENT change which cannot be undone.

What happens if a disgruntled employee decides to abuse this feature and puts a bunch of profanity in an issue?  What if someone creates an issue and puts some confidential info in it unknowingly (or on purpose).  What's the recourse?

Please add this feature to SUBMITTALS as well as RFIs. We have mistakenly closed out submittals and RFIs and need to attach the revised PDF responses.

Common Autodesk! How long has it to take to add this feature?? This is requested often and already a long time ago!!

Reopening an issue should be possible by an Project Administrator or someone with a certain role!!

The same questions raised by the majority of our project managers, TA's and contractors. Most certainly it would help and avoid raising another preview with the same document of interest or mistakenly approved and closed workflow and wanting to go back a step.

Would be great to have the option of adding the Review Registry available in the card library if needed for the Dashboard.

Dear Autodesk, is there any news regarding this topic?

So far, I can't re-open a closed issue. This is very inconvenient and a dealbreaker for those working with Field Management on our construction site because you can not add new information (such as pictures) if you accidentally close an incident.

Kind regards, Lennart Gerritsen

This is a serious issue which should be simple to add. I have just had on of our coordinators come to me this morning to say she closed an item by mistake and seemingly there is still no solution. Our client is spending hundred of millions of Euros for us to deliver a multi-block commercial and residential project and everytime someone makes a simple mistake we have to send an email out telling the entire Client team we messed up again and would they mind kindly reviewing a completely new item because the system we use isn;t clever enough to simply re-open an item. It's massively unprofessional!

We just moved out project to BIM360, and not being able to edit RFIs and Submittals after they are closed it a huge setback that is making us reconsider and move back to ProCore or Prolog
