Processing Changes (Errors) Civil 3D

A major issue with workflows that we have experienced is that when an operation (usually resulting from trying to copy, move or rename a file in the file explorer of Autodesk Desktop Connector) fails, no further file uploads are able to be completed by the user who has encountered the error. 

 

For example, in the attached screenshot, I have not been able to upload changes to the drawings I have worked on since this error has occurred. Essentially, all my files are saved locally and will not upload to the cloud until I clear out this error. 

 

This problem is exasperated by two things:

 

  1. The "undo" or "retry" button has not in my experience ever worked to clear the error.  Clearing the error usually requires saving the impacted files offline, replacing them and often having to re-path related xrefs to the original drawings. 
  2. No pop-up error is shown to the user letting them know that files will not be uploaded until the error has been cleared. Often, I will be working on a file for most of the day without even knowing that this error has occurred which impacts other users as they are not able to work of my latest drawings resulting in timely reconciliation. 

I'm not sure if this issue is unique to Civil 3D or native AutoCAD but it is regularly problematic.
