Markups Version specific

Markups Version specific

In terms of drawings being reviewed using the Review process. Markups are added and then corrected by our modellers. Then uploaded to be reviewed again, however, the markups stay on the drawing. Archiving the markups will be too tedious. Please have the markups visible ONLY on that specific version of the drawing, so that when a new drawing is uploaded, it's a "clean" drawing ready for review. If a Reviewer wants to check what the markups were previously, they need only look back at the previous version to see what the markups were.

Additional comments:

The fact that both issues and markups are inherited to the latest version of a drawing is a great feature. We do not want to change that feature. This allows us to track and follow up on all issues/markups to ensure they are solved and not forgotten. Issues have several attributes that can be used for filtering. Markup do not have these attributes, that is the real problem for us.

We have 3 ideas how we would like to see the issues and markups in the future:

1. Treat markup as an issue attribute (no longer stand alone markups)

2. Link markup to an issue. If the issue is filtered out, so is the linked markup.

3. Give markups attributes (just as issues).

If we can choose, we would like to see option 1 or 2 prior to 3.

I think we both have the same problem, but different solution ideas.

Kind regards, Fredrik

I disagree with this position on markups.  Markups should automatically be appended to the next version of a sheet until they are archived (not relevant to the design anymore).  Markups are intended to accompany Issues by illustrating what requires attention on the project.  This is not directly related to when you issue your sheets or revisions.

Makes sense,

But try follow a drawing when you have interdisciplines checking them and you are 8 versions down, it becomes too cluttered. You should be able to look at the version of that drawing with those specific markups on that specific sheet.

I noticed that the markups of a previuos version are correctly showed in the new version but cannot be exported. They can be print but just as raster sheet.

Would be nice to have an option to export markups older and/or newer.

Markups done on Version 1 are automatically reflected on version 2, is this a feature or a bug in the system ?

by reading some of the comments i feel it is a feature and on other hand some says it has to be improved.

according to me if it is a feature then it could have been covered in the course under https://learnacc.autodesk.com/page/autodesk-docs.

Markups for each version should be filter, otherwise it will be confused.

I think the best option for this problem is to have an option available in projects that can turn on and off the mark ups being tied to a single version. this provides flexibility to both sides of the argument.

I would prefer these mark ups to be tied to a version because after a new version is uploaded, those markups no longer apply to the latest version. This is an old thread but still something that needs to be looked at

@lduganTX9DN - i completely agree. This should be a selectable option for the project.

Traceability is what ACC or BIM360 is all about, so my guess this feature is there to stay no doubt about it. so we need to adjust and use fitlers or other workflow that suites the company's need.
