Marking up a multipage pdf written specification document in BIM360 is painful and laborious. :(

Hello,

Its taking me four to five times longer to markup a specification document (not a Drawing) in bim360 than Acrobat DC

Marking up a multipage pdf written specification document in BIM360 has got to be the most painful and laborious process compared to marking up in Acrobat DC. Please can you just embed Acrobat DC or allow the PDF to pop out to be edited.

All the efficiency I have with Acrobat DC is not available in BIM360:

If i change a page:

  • I need to change the line thickness every time
  • i need to change the colour every time
  • i need to change the font size every time

Other frustrations:

  • I cannot copy and paste
  • No Spell check - this is a big one, especially when you have a large document
  • I cannot use my custom stamps
  • I cannot Highlight or use different colour highlighter pens
  • i cannot use offline
  • there is a wait time whilst each change is saved
  • sometimes it crashes between saves
  • I dont know where i left off
  • i dont know which page i'm on
  • Using on a MS Surface tablet is a terrible experience

Please get in touch and I will demonstrate and talk you through my plight, or you might have other suggestions for me, perhaps we are doing it wrong and should not use BIM360 to markup PDF documents and find another method using PDF perhaps?

With the use of Desktop Connector you can have a workflow with Acrobat DC.

Difference is that when you save the multipage PDF a new version on BIM360docs is created and the markups are in the PDF itself (so linked to a certain version).

Hi Wendy,

That works perfectly, thank you so much! I will do that from now on.
