Location data attached to photos
Automatically attach location data to photos (latitude and longitude). This could be extended out to included other formats such as GIS. Allow photos to be displayed as per location rather than date.
The problem we have that across the life cycle of the asset, people use different languages.
So GIS coordination is a good start to improve the O&M capability of maintaining the asset in 10 years time where it is easy to find the location of any photo loaded into their system.
Lat/Long information is stored in photos taken within the Field application. This information is stored as part of the EXIF information and can be viewed when the file is downloaded through the API's. Additionally photos taken on the ipad can be viewed on a map by going into the Camera Roll > Details.
That does not seem to be the case, photos taken on the iPads do have Lat/Long attached however photos stored and downloaded from 360 field are missing the location data when you go to the photo properties.
@AnonymousI think this has been brought up multiple times in the forum in different places discussing adding location information the the photos. I agree this needs to be implemented and happy someone is echoing what has already been said to piggy back on this here is a link to another where it is mentioned in the comments. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/bim-360-ideas/bim360field-photo-library/idc-p/5847494#M938
Thanks for raising this Tim. I am aware of at least two other sites who have asked the same question. Do let me know if you get this sorted so that I can share the solution.
I total agree, you would think this would be an easy and very useful add in to BIM and again do let me know if you get this sorted so that I can share the solution
Hi @Anonymous , Thank you for your feedback. Latitude, Longitude information is now stored in photos taken within Field on the iPad. Please ensure iPad location data is shared with the Field mobile app.
Photos taken on the iPad and downloaded from Field web Photo module, will contain the lat, long coordinates within the photo exif properties.
