Export Members in BIM360 Project environment

Export Members in BIM360 Project environment

It would be great to export the users of a BIm360 project (maybe based on filters like the status PENDING) like it is possible in the Account environment.

With this list I could cross check whether these people are still assigned to the project (handled in other systems). Now I have to to it manually name by name.

Thanks

Michael

Hi @michael_ring,

Have you tried exporting all members from Account - Member Directory? The exported spreadsheet can be used to filter down to a specific project. That way you can quickly check who has access to the project as well as their status (active, pending, etc.).

Thanks,

Hi @Sijie_Zhang,

is this available for the Project admin panel at the 'Members' section?
In our company, we have a structure, that I am able to add/manage the members of a project, but I can't find 'Account' member Directory?

We have only 3 Superadmins who can add the project to BIM360 Docs, but afterwards the product departments handle the members on their own.

Hi @Sijie_Zhang,

thanks this works great!

So just two ideas to think about for future consideration. A filter for a certain project would be great and/or like @Joerg.WilleJVFYP is suggesting to make this feature available for project admins as well.

Again, thanks for your promt support

Hi @michael_ring@Joerg.WilleJVFYP

Thanks for the feedback! Understood the need for having Export functionality at the Project Admin level and I have added the feature request to our backlog.

Thanks,

If this export option is added, what formats will it be available? I need the file in .rtf format or else I will need to convert them using a utility such as Doc Converter which is an extra step for me.

Hi @Anonymous,

on Account Level Autodesk is offering CSV. This would be fine for us.

Could the export Project Member List be used as a Batch Import Project Memeber list.

In essence, a Project Admin could Filter or Check boxes for members to export. Then, use that list to Invite project members to another project? Currently, project memberships are created one at a time.

How long will it be until we see this update?

Very much agree with @Joerg.WilleJVFYP. This is definitely something BIM managers should being able to effectively track project members is a key part of their role. Is there a timeline for implementation?

@Sijie_Zhang We have customer suggested, their account administrator needs manage multiple projects (about 10 projects) every week.

They hope that the member management of Account Admin and Project Admin can support filtering and selecting a project to export the active, pending and login status of each project, and which company it belongs to.

They also want to export who are the people in the company after filtering the company, and what is the status of the people. It is hoped that the member management interface of Account Admin and Project Admin can add the function of filter, or even multiple filter combination functions, and then export the filtered results to the table, instead of all members and go to the excel table for processing now.

I've added my vote to this. It's a common request from our BIM 360 project admins. Currently they have to submit an IT ticket so that someone with Account Admin access can export the whole member list from the hub and then filter the resulting data. End to end that can be a couple of days until the project admin has the information they need. The most frequent user story is the project admin would like to contact all of the users on their project and as the Project Admin page has a list of all users with email addresses they would like to be able to export all. Even waiting a day for one of the account admins to complete the ticket is below their expectations so i'd really support this feature as an enhancement to that would reduce the account admins workload and meet project admins expectations. It would be great to give a 'more actions' button next to the add button or when user are selected using the check box to have an export member detail button appear alongside the existing resend invitation button.

Agree.

Project Level Admin Member export functionality is required and just as applicable as Account Level Admin Member export functionality.

It's somewhat disheartening to know this is yet to be set as Accepted as I'm currently having use lookup tables and formula in excel, which still provdes me with limited information. I need to know those working on projects and what services they have acces to as a skeleton for other administrative duties.

I of course appreciate the big fish you're currently frying so will wait patiently in anticipation for this to request bare fruit.

The "Export from Account admin" process has two major flaws.

a.) As stated above, only Account Admins cans use this. Project Admins do not have right sthat high up.

b.) Exporting the entire list still doesn't accomplish a Project list.

EVERY project a person is assigned to ends up in the Project list. So if User1 is assign to Projects A, B, and C, and User 2 is assigned to projects B, D, and E, you can't filter on Project B

Any update on when we might see this feature? It's very nearly two years now since this topic was first raised and there still doesn't appear to be an efficient method for project admins to export a list of project members, email addresses and project permissions... something that for a CDE admin role is actually quite a common requirement... currently Project admins have to maintain a separate and disconnected list of users, roles and permissions which is double handling this task.

I believe that Project level reporting is absolutely necessary.

AS a Project Administrator we should be able to export two different levels of user reports.

1) User Report Summary: which would be fairly similar to the existing report but at the project level and rather than listing the default roles or company list the assigned role and company.  Contact details may also be desirable.

2) User Report Detailed: the same as above but includes additional details like folder permissions and module access as a minimum.

This level of detail is needed to prevent BIM Administrators or project managers needing to manage separate user lists that should be unnecessary if the report was available.

I can see that being able to generate these reports for several projects at once, or all projects, may also be beneficial for Account administrators.

This feature would be great. I use it all the time in the Field versions.  Saves so much time and no room for error by missing a name.

As an account admin I use the data connector to get all the reports I need in Power BI, I would support this need for project admins though for the day to day running of projects.

Just exporting 43000 users from account admin, thank you for this.

Is Autodesk still developing next gen at all, or all you going full steam on ACC?

Is there a way to export other data for the members - like telephone number.
