hope this is the place to suggest. this, but i stumbled upon desktop connector when looking for a solution to work and sync process with teammates on a short student animation film.
I have searched the entire web to find the best solution, now the desktop app seems to be the right directions, i couldn't install on my mac. So first idea is to make it available for all operating systems and second is to emphasize the need for project collaborations and syncing while in animation pipeline. Today there is no feature/software that can help a group of animators work on the same maya project file that is not cloud based/ shared network. i work with animators in remote locations, and the desktop app seemed to have the right idea but obviously is not compatible to all. As maya is connected to online server (when you sign in and such) there should be an added feature to allow me to work and sync our pipeline workflow without using a separate cloud based drive. There are 2 pipeline workflows that help you organize your project files (prism and pipeline.nnl.tv) now there should be a way to connect them to the maya app. Hope you'll consider this, Thank you.
