Desktop Connector support for Mac or Windows ARM

Desktop Connector support for Mac or Windows ARM

Would be great go get this supported natively on Mac OS or failing that get it working again under Windows ARM. Revit now runs pretty well under parallels on M1 Mac's but desktop connector no longer installs - fails on the filter easyflt.sys (something like that). Earlier versions used to install I'm sure but not the last few latest builds.

Jason, are you saying that you got Revit working on your M1 with Parallels?  All the videos I watched on You Tube they could not get it working.  Could you please verify? I have been waiting to order a new Mac until I hear this news. Thank you.

Yes, it does work.
Need to be on the insider edition of Windows Arm, I would be getting 16gb ram too. I've only got 8gb mac book air, still performs not too bad.
I did a video, see here:

Any questions, happy to help.

Thanks a ton! Good video. Yes, I will probably get the 16GB mac mini. This is great news for many. Revit on M1 is working. Good bye Windows.

I too cannot get the Autodesk File System Monitor Service to start during install of the desktop connector.  This is a must have and with Revit now working in the ARM version of Windows 11 in Parallels, I thought a 64gb Macbook Pro would be a good idea.  I am thinking of going back to the PC if this isn't fixed or there's a workaround.

I couldn't install Autodesk Connector Desktop on parallels 17, windows 11. Revit and Navisworks run perfectly. My problem is a desktop connector. Please nay help?

Just here to show support. Also on M1, Parallels, Win11 ARM. Desktop connector fails at File System Monitor permissions. Can't upload Recap projects to the cloud - gotta send 10GB files the old fashioned way with no quick view capability.

Its the year 2022 and Autodesk still doesn't have Revit and its associated programs compatible with OS systems.

I am wondering if there is some progress. We need Desktop Connector to sync Inventor 2023 files to the cloud with colleagues.

it would be good to have Revit + BIm 360 Desktop connector that compatible with Mac

Well, I just talked to Parallels on the phone. Autodesk needs to compile the installer to an "arm" version in order for it to work. Today the installer is online compiled for x64 or x86 (Intel architecture).

It will just not work even if we try all these workarounds.

Autodesk, help!!?

Autodesk, This would be a great idea. I'm running Paralllels on a Mac, but also rocking my employers ARM Surface Pro for site based Navis and 360 / ACC duties.

Please can you have a look at re-compiling urgently?

I bought a MacBook pro M2 i installed Parallels 18 and i installed Revit , it was perfect( except some visual problems) but i couldn't install Autodesk Desktop Connector so unfortunately i lost my remote job, so, i returned it 😞

I am using a MacBook Pro M1 with Parallels Desktop 18 and Revit works great. But it is still not possible to install/use the Desktop Connector on an ARM machine. So unfortunately cloud work is not possible😢. Please Autodesk ...

This would be a great advantage to have. Already subscribing to REVIT, subscribing to collaborate PRO, but the software that connects them is crippled for ARM. This would be a great move forward to fix this issue.

Definitely would appreciate Autodesk giving Revit users some love here. Revit works just fine on Parallels, but without the Desktop Connector, I cannot use it, We are invested in the BIM Collaborate Pro product and have zero projects outside of it, so getting an Arm-installable desktop connector would be fantastic.

Hello

@gfwilliams , is it at least possible to open a revit file on the cloud in collaboration mode ? ( ie even without using desktop connector for the links)

in advanced tank you

GNR_David,

Hi,
Yes you can work on the file, but no links will be availble and all files on the cloud folders that you might need to acces you will not be able to access.

Good luck

@GNR_David  like @cchollet said, I can open the a Revit Cloud Worksharing file, but anything linked through the dekstop connector is gone. Revit seems to work fairly well, but since we have ALL of our projects in BIM Collaborate Pro, it doesn't really matter without a functioning desktop connector.
