This has likely been captured in a variety of ways, but in order for BIM360 to truly be a single source of truth, desktop connector really needs to be what it could have been - a "virtual drive".
By that, I mean that it has a consistent (letter or similar) path to the files on it, so that we can send a link to a file to someone who is a member, but, even more important than that, it needs to lock files that are in use but only support one editor (pdfs, etc). It needs to integrate with, and allow us to use, the desktop versions of software for Word, excel, and pdf, etc and, again, support office 365 and its coauthoring, or at least lock it when in use.
Without these basic features - and many of the improvements others have said - bim360 remains a location that autodesk products may reside, but ignores the true work and scope of files and documents that we "designers" (AE) produce in our work cycle.
Please, please help us to want to use this.
