Idea: In case a master file gets further distributed to several stakeholders who work in different folders, it would be desirable to have the option of multi-selection for custom attributes.
Example: Isometric pipe drawings for a project get released and should be shared with different external manufacturing companies, who work in different folders across the BIM360 project folder structure. The drawings are used as basis for further construction/assembly work and those stakeholders rely on the information.
From our GC (general contractor) perspective, it would be efficient to create a custom attribute on file level, such as "File relevant for" and select all stakeholders where applicable.
Further, we consider configuring some kind of automatism via e.g. Workato (BIM360 integration and workflow automation) to set up the mapping between master and reference documents and keep them constantly updated.
Current situation: For now, it's possible to define one of these custom attribute types 1. text field, 2. date, 3. drop-down list. Unfortunately, for drop-down list type it's only possible to select one of the available options (no multi-selection).
