BIM360 Docs - Autodesk Vault Integration - Properties

Synchronize selected file properties in Vault with equivalent properties in Bim360 Document Management to make file management and file searching more useful.  

In Vault, there is a lot more attribute/property information attached to a file than in BIM360 - e.g. Document title, Document Discipline, Document System Number, Document Building number, Document Building address...  We use these properties to search for files all the time and it would be extremely helpful for that data to be synchronized to the Bim360 Document Management file attributes.

It would also be helpful to have saved searches and favorites in BIM360 Document Management.

The ability to map any property from Vault to BIM360 Docs would be amazing. Lets see this happen 🙂

This is not just a great idea, this should be a standard function, because bim360 doc is a great tool, but it is just half the truth of document management and its needs. In combination with vault and a property mapping this should make a lot of people very happy!

I am working with BIM360 now through a trail to try to get buy-in with my company, and quite frankly I was surprised that this wasn't something built into the integration.  Our designers and engineers rely heavily on the properties in Vault to find the stuff they need, and now I'm not sure what I will need to do to provide the same level of search on the BIM side.  This really needs to be available.

I saw recently in some released documents that there is a new POST method being worked on that should allow the creation of new properties via the Form BIM 360 API.  Once that POST method is released, then it should be relatively easy to create the functionality requested here, which is what my team is planning on doing short term.  Long term this should simply be built into BIM 360 as part of the BIM/Vault collaboration feature.

Whats the status of this enhancement request? Our masterdata for models still resides on the Vault Server. For collaboration with 3th parties we use the sync with BIM360 and share the models to be used as reference files. If 3th parties can view Vault versions within BIM360 less mistakes are made during the design process. We are looking forward for the implementation of this enhancement.
