BIM 360 Field Task integration with BIM 360 Plan

So here is the deal, we do our schedules in Microsoft Project / Oracle Primavera / whatever and import the files making the mapping of columns from Microsoft Project / Oracle Primavera / whatever to BIM 360 Field parameters (similar to the equipment mapping in equipments and glue models).

Please, bring the tasks with microsoft project predecessors and successors (or oracle predecessors and successors / whatever).

After that all the task will be created, but this is the baseline, to do the production planning we EXPORT the tasks created in BIM 360 Field to BIM 360 Plan and by this we can do the weekly production plan adding new tasks in BIM 360 Plan from the baseline of BIM 360 Field.

We use BIM 360 Plan to collect all the information of status completed, work in progress, whatever of the tasks and send the status of the execution of the baseline back to BIM 360 Field.

Also, ANY adjustment in the dates will be automatically replied to all the predecessors and successors and will also affect the production schedule in BIM 360 Plan.

This really can improve a lot the workflow in the field, this integration is crucial,

Hi -  Sorry for my delay in responding. 

If I understand @Anonymous initial post, he has outlined a few core requirements

1. Import data from a schedule (MS Project, P6, etc.) that includes predecessor and successor data into Field

2. 2-way synchronization of data between Plan and Field

3. Automatic adjustment of predecessor and successor activities in Plan when a date is changed

The import feature for Plan currently supports defining predecessor activities,so it might be more efficient to import the schedule data directly to Plan.  Plan does not yet support 2-way data sharing with Field (classic or next gen).  We also do not yet support automatic adjustment of predecessor/successor activities.  These last two requirements are on our long term roadmap as part of integrating Plan with our next gen BIM 360 platform.

@mike.davison Hi Mike, we are new to using Plan and new to using the new Build release as of this month.

Any updates you can provide on the topic above regarding Plan roadmap (near or long-term) and how it will integrate with the new Build product offering?  It's appears challenging to sync and work in both solutions at scale due to siloed workflows.  Looking forward to what is coming.
