BIM 360 Education licences

BIM 360 Education licences

Every now and then the questions arises if we have non-commercial licenses available for schools, universities and educational institutes. We understand there is the possibility for evaluation licenses but this does not cover the specific need of these requests. I strongly believe that exposing our Cloud solutions towards these groups can slingshot and help speed up adoption. Many students nowadays actively participate in real-live projects and their support and natural cloud-service adoption behaviour can generate strong entry-points in areas/businesses where we currently still receive resistance in adoption from a managerial level.

If this is not the right forum to address this need can you help us identify other entry points that we could engage with?

Autodesk BIM 360 has been made available to a few select institutional users to evaluate its use in an academic setting. It is Autodesk’s hope to be able to make Autodesk BIM 360 more widely available to academia, for free through the Education Community in the future. Please check back at a later date.

How is this not a popular idea? Last response from an Autodesk Rep was in 2017. BIM 360 has become more widely used since then, and as an educator, I cannot prepare my students to use BIM 360 prior to graduation. This needs to be a priority for the newer generation of our industry.

I would highly suggest to combine the following three ideas:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/bim-360-ideas/make-bim360-part-of-the-free-education-portfolio-during...

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/bim-360-ideas/bim-360-education-licences/idi-p/6808313

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/bim-360-ideas/offering-student-licenses-for-bim-360/idi-p/10611408

Each are saying the same basic thing which is the education system needs access to ACC Collaborate Pro to really teach well and teach how it is done in the real world. I am currently mentoring with a high school in their AEC program and they don't have a server anymore so they can't even really teach worksharing at all.  They really need Collaborate Pro to really show the kids how it is done in real life.

Thanks!

Last year I participated in the Autodesk Summer School (https://www.autodesk.com/education/industries/construction/summer-school)
Afterwards I could apply for a Autodesk Construction Cloud for educational use.
We have an educational license of ACC (own HUB) on which students can work together.

Read the summer school documentation/slides and you'll find contact information.
You could also try  to reach [email protected]

@wendy.busschots and everyone.  Here is an official response I got from a ticket that I put in.  I was trying as many ways as possible to try to get an official response.  Finally got this from the ticket.  Wendy, could you provide perhaps some more information about your situation.  Has the school purchased their own hub or something and if you know, what that might entail?  Any guidance would be helpful.

Hi Ric,

My name is Kaden, with Autodesk Education Support and I'm happy to assist you with your question about obtaining ACC Collaborate Pro.

ACC Collaborate Pro is not a product that is available through the Autodesk Education plan. This means that Autodesk Education Support will not be able to provide the product. You can purchase the product, if you have questions regarding purchases I can transfer you to our sale team.

Ric, please let me know if this information helped resolve the issue. If not, we are happy to continue working with you until we figure it out. We ask that you provide any additional information that may help us resolve the issue, such as a screen recording or relevant screenshots. Simply attach them to your reply.

Best,
Kaden
