BIM 360 Docs : Project Files Viewer and Comments for non CAD data

Website & iOS

Under Project Files folders  add the ability to view non-CAD documents using the Large Model Viewer, similar to the A360 Team's capability of viewing MS Office, PDF, Photos, Videos etc. on the website and the iOS app

Also please add the ability to add comments to files under Project Files folders on all  documents on the website and the iOS app

Thanks

John

Hi,

The latest version of the iOS app (released Aug 17) provides access to project document types such as photos / images, videos, and MS Office formats - online or offline.  You can view these documents in the same manner as you view drawings and models:  select a folder, tap on a thumbnail image to view full size, and use the arrow keys to quickly navigate through multiple documents.

We plan to add support, in a future release, for non-design files in Docs web.

Best Regards,

Joan Allen

Hello Joan,

could you let us know when support for non-design files in Docs web will be available?

@joan_allen any update on MS office files in Document Management? BIM 360 Teams has the "view" feature but Document management doesn't yet.

@joan_allen We are also desparate to have MS Office files supported in the native Docs web viewer, especially in the Project Files. Instead of posting a new idea I would like to support this one already placed. We have recently started to test BIM360 Docs for our tendering department and one of the initial feedbacks I received on features was Microsoft office viewing capability. I would add from my end that I hope it would be possible to also add markups and download/export/print those office files as PDFs.
