BIM 360 Docs: Ability to move files from Plans Folder

It does not make much sense to have the PLans folder as a non organisable hold all.

Could we please have the ability to move items from the Plans folder to the Project folders. Drage and drop would be nice.

There must be a reason to make this so. I can not think why. It does provide a rigid structure but what if someone accidentally incorrect file upload? i want to delete it or move.

It can not manage these folders is the only why Docs is not used at this time. It's a shame because it is a good platform.

I have one comment: It seems that creating markups can only in the Plan Directory. Why can not all folders?

I'd like to add a suggestion to this.  It would be nice to have the ability to move files and folders, if anything by the Project Admin or Document Manager.  Yesterday I created all of my folders, uploaded some files, and waited for them to process, only to learn I (stupidly) put most of them in the wrong top-level folder.  My only option was to delete and start over.

I'm sorry that you encountered those challenges yesterday.  We are currently working on the feature set to support move and copy drawings and models in the "Plans" and "Shop Drawings" folders / subfolders.

I read this thread and i m also thrilled to see that there is no possibility to move files to other folders. First, i thought it was a joke but it isnt 🙂 Still cant believe that moving files is not possible. @joan_allen Are you still working on programming this tool? It has been 2 months already...

I'm wondering of this feature has been implemented in BIM360 Next Gen? I am not able to move any file between the Plans and Project Files folders.

I also just came across this. I'm trying to move my model from the Project Files folder to the Plans folder, but can't. It looks like moving files between these folders doesn't work in the current BIM360 system.

I have found if you use the Desktop Connector, you can effectively copy the files from Project Files to Plans without needing to download the files first.  Technically the files do cache to your system but it does at least save some time.  Not a fix per se.
