One significant deficiency in 360 Docs is an approvals workflow. The system is excellent in other areas however the ability to assign documents to a user for approval is essential for the management of project documentation.
If this was set up similar to the RFI workflow whereby a document could be shared with another member of the team (client or employers agent for instance) with a structured response mechanism. I would suggest a traffic light system:
Green - Approved no comments
Amber - Approved with minor comments
Red - Rejected with major comments.
The Amber and Red options could be provided with a text box to provide details and could be supplemented with the use of the mark-up tools.
At present we have had to set up containers under the client shared area as a workaround. The document is initially placed in a "for approval" folder and the client must then physically move it into an "approved" or "rejected" folder. If it is placed in the approved/rejected folder the document can then be moved back to the source consultants "approved action" or "rejected action" folder which is their prompt to either upgrade to a published status code and revision or, if rejected, carry out additional work as required and resubmit to the "for approval" folder in the client shared where the above proceed is repeated.
The above is very labour intensive and difficult to manage. Something that replicates this document movement automatically would also be a great help.
