ACC Project Template Role Permissions for Sheets and Issues

ACC Project Template Role Permissions for Sheets and Issues

Role Permissions are great and are best when they can be assigned to invited members throughout the project lifecycle. This allows Project Admins confidence when inviting members assigned a Role, they will have the appropriate permissions to folders and files.

Currently in an ACC Project Template there is no way to assign Roles to Sheets in Build or Issues in either Docs or Build. Currently this is done on a project-by-project basis. This is time consuming and error prone.

It would be great to have the ability in an ACC Project Template to assign Roles and their Permissions for Sheets and Issues.

On a side note, the Add for Sheets and Issues are slightly different. Once is a pulldown allowing multiple selection of Roles and the other is a search tool that drops down the closest searched Roles. It would be nice if these functioned the same. Perferibly the pulldown allowing multiple selections...

Thanks,

Have you notice that when you start a project from a template, the system automatically creates a laundry list of role permissions in Issues which you then have to go and remove?  Mine does this every time and I can't make heads or tails of the roles it has chosen to add.  The added roles do not align to roles in my account, nor roles of Project Members included in my template.

I have create a support ticket to find out the logic, but so far, the response is that "it is working as designed."

Debra,

Yes, mine does that as well. I have tried to determine where or how these roles were selected. I believe they were carried over from the transition from BIM 360 admin to ACC admin. If you notice, ACC does not have access to Roles in any capacity. The creation of Roles is not even mentioned in the Help for Docs or Build. You need to go into the BIM 360 admin to create roles. I am sure Autodesk is working on this but for now Roles seem to be a huge legacy issue. I do not have clarification of this, but it would be great if Autodesk provided more information about the status of Roles in ACC.

Thank, Bruce
