ACC (Autodesk Docs) - Archiving Markups

BIM 360 Document Management markups allow you to archive them.  This helps tremendously to help understand the history of changes that occurred on a document. But Autodesk Docs markups do not offer the option to archive.  This function needs to be added so that we can continue to use our workflow as we do in BIM 360 Document Management.

It would also be beneficial to make a few markups and then publish them as a group.  IE: it requires a cloud, text and lines drawn to convey one thought.  Then publishing them as one grouped markup would help when archiving.

I have a slightly older Idea on this topic, but with a bit more detail on the limitations of ACC markups to help explain why the improvements are necessary.

This would be really helpful in tracking the mark-ups too. Any feedback on this function?

BIM 360 has a better solution

This is more than just a "good idea."  It is fundamental to the process.

Dear Autodesk developpers, please keep good features when you upgrade a solution. It's so important for companies wich developp process to keep using your tools. I know that you guys implement plangrid into ACC but you have to keep great features from BIM 360 and add great features from Plangrid too. Also we lost 3D markups, so know we are forced to make 2D drawing to annotate....we are rolling back before BIM times. Please restore the previous great features and keep go forward!

Still no updates on this topic.

Hi, Any updates on this option that we had in BIM 360.

Also, there is a problem while we are uploading a new version of the PDF or file for review, we can change and update the latest version for the next round of review and ACC is showing that all markups made in the previous version will be only available in that version and it will not be visible in the new version, this exactly what we needed too.

But this is not happening and all markups made on previous versions are also visible in the new version. Since there is no filter option to filter markups based on version or it can't be archived too. Then it will make the review confusing and hectic.

Any idea on this or suggestion will be much appreciated

Thanks

We are preparing the rollout of ACC in our company and get the same feedback from our B360 users. Without the possibility to archive Markups they see B360 as the better solution for quality checks.

We have the issue with our Users here. Archiving the markup is a must for better follow up .

Thanks for taking this into consideration.

I wonder if “published” and “unpublished” can be used for the same purpose as “archived” and “not archived.”

The purpose: To distinguish between markups that are no longer important (unpublished) and those that are still important (published).

Or do you have another pupose or usecase for archiving markups in BIM360?

@thorsten_trost That unfortunately won't work.

When a user makes their markup Unpublished, it removes its visibility from all users. This means that users won't see a history of past markups as reference. Archiving enables a visible markup history, without having them clutter the active (unarchived) markups.
