Using big 3d plant models on mobile app can lead to a potential performance decrease caused by the amount of processed objects.
Result: slow performance when loading or zooming and the entire model disappears from time to time. To get out of this situation, the user has to close the model and reopen it again. As a consequence, also issues cannot be created due to “New Issue” dialog freeze. This circumstance can limit and slows down the entire workflow.
Cause: BIM360's 3D reader currently does not limit the max. amount of loaded elements.
Thus, big 3d plant models on a high detail level do not regard memory utilization and this can lead to significant delay in visualization or failure.
For this reason, currently only web version usage can prevent us from this scenario.
Solution proposal: Select from 3 levels of detail (low-medium-high) which will determine the quality of the rendering (amount of pixels). Once the user zooms in to a specific part, he/she could again select the level of detail.
