360 Docs - Markups: Copy and Paste Functionality

360 Docs - Markups: Copy and Paste Functionality

Product: BIM 360 Docs

360 Module: Plans and Project Files>Markups

Function: Copy and Paste Markups

Statement: Currently after a Markup is made in a file there is no way to copy and paste that same Markup. This can be problematic and frustrating when users need to create the same Markup in multiple places in the same file or on a different file.

Requested Feature: Significant workflow time savings can be achieved by allowing users to copy and paste Markups within a file and across other files. Maybe a button or option can be created within the Markup editing window before a Markup is published. After a Markup is published, maybe an option can be added to the Markup within the Markups Tab to allow for that Markup to be copy and pasted to another file.

Agree this is a fundamental feature that is missing which is causing many headaches with reviewers at #AECOM.

Agreed, the markup functionality needs significant improvement overall. This would be a great start!

Bring this on Autodesk.  We want to use your product but we are using workarounds to speed this process up.

Agreed, we need this functionality at Veolia. We need to copy file and all markups embedded especially when doing collaboration design with a lot of stakeholders.

please fix it, it's like a double job for office staff and site staff might get confused due to lack of mark-up comments from consultants.

Being unable to copy and paste information from within BIM 360 is stopping us from purchasing this product. We need to be able to copy the name of a component in the model

We really need this feature, If I need to copy a document to another folder for one reason or another I NEED to bring the whole audit trail with it.

Our Team at AECOM are actually moving away from BIM 360 simply because we are unable to copy and paste mark-ups while competitive software can. This should be a simple feature to add, I cannot understand how it takes Autodesk years to incorporate this. We'd like to use BIM 360 Docs but the lack of basic features just makes it difficult to adopt.

It's over clear that Ideas are never in prior, and there are no problems as long we are not complaining. This is also not the right channel to complain. It's meant to give us the feeling to be heard. Mostly we report things as an idea while there is noting new or inventive on it. When it's about an important missing function you should IMO better report in parallel as an issue or a bug via Post-purchase support. So, they have at least to think about for a solution and so they can see by themselves the problems we struggle with, and that concurrent products are often much more mature. It gives also the option to keep the issue open until it's implemented.

Muchas gracias.

Why has this not happened yet.  An absolutely necessary feature to make this an efficient redline tool.

From 04.20.2018 till 12.04.2022....isn't this enough for Autodesk to implement a few mini features like the ones PDF-Editor has. As these features are used by most of the team members across projects, they shouldn't be dealt with like this is not a priority.

Markups should also copy to updated versions of the same sheet.

Mandatory feature also for us.
We are suffering in BIM360 markups adoption due to this missing feature.

Any update? Many thanks

So many basic and necessary functions are missing. Like just Hi-lite of text/notes in docs and views. If we cannot do these simple things then it is NOT a complete markup app and should just go away, unless they are coming soon.

If we cannot integrate this functionality in the ONE Source promotion of BIM 360 and ACC then it is a Fail and will NOT be adopted by serious firms and users.

I agree on the copy and paste function of mark-ups . It will make the mark-ups easier. At this stage even Adobe is better than BIM 360.
